In the Executive Budget, Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham asked for a $35 million increase in Pre-K funding, but as it’s written, House Bill 2 only provides a $10 million increase.
We know that Pre-K shrinks achievement gaps and improves learning for all students, yet programs haven’t been expanded due to lack of funding.
We now have the opportunity for transformational change in our education system, starting with our state’s youngest students.
Please call our Senators on the Senate Finance Committee TODAY and ask them to fulfill the Governor’s request to adequately fund Pre-K in New Mexico.
